• Shock, Freefall and Vibration Proof
Volktek's Ethernet Industrial Protocol (EIP) certified IEN-8648A-EIP is a Managed Industrial switch equipped with 8 port 10/100/1000BASE-T, 4 Gigabit SFP slots and 1 USB slot. Assembled with hardened components and enclosed in a rugged aluminum case, the switch sustains severe industrial conditions, it operates between extreme temperatures of -40°C to 75°C and is highly tolerant to high vibration and shock.
Because of its particular software features, EIP switch is a real time saver. It can be quickly upgraded and its configurations can be saved by inserting a USB flash drive into its USB slot without the need of computers or on spot technicians. The EIP certified switches enable the real-time communication for automation control, by converging different floor networks with diversified procedures and tools into one.
Robust Electrical and Electromagnetic Safeguard
Engineered to withstand EMI (electromagnetic interference), ESD (Electrostatic discharge), power surge, over voltage, over current, and reverse polarity.
Port-based and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN
GARP (Generic Attribute Registration Protocol) and GVRP (Generic VLAN Registration Protocol) for segmentation of large networks into smaller parts and separate broadcast domains.
Firmware Auto Backup
Auto backup of firmware to the secondary memory and activation of it from there in case of loss of the primary memory.
Redundant Power System
Powered simultaneously with two different power sources, e.g. SDR-480P-48 power supply and IRA-120/IRA-160 DIN-rail mountable AC to DC power adapter, with power failure alarm.
Efficient Traffic Prioritization
Effective QoS mechanisms for priority assignment, transmission of dedicated traffics to specific applications, and allocation of appropriate bandwidth to mission-critical communications.
Redundant Ring for Fast Recovery
Xpress Ring for rapid detection and recovery of link failure in milliseconds and ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching), Dual Homing, LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol), and RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) for continuous and consistent operation.
