Hardware Features
• Shock, Freefall and Vibration Proof
IEN-8648A offers multiple VLANs to segment large networks into smaller parts and organize them into separate broadcast domains in order to control traffic patterns, limit broadcast traffic and reduce broadcast storms. To increase reliability and availability uses GARP protocol and uses Xpress Ring technology, which offers a very fast recovery time of less than 50msec to ensure continuous network services. In addition, ERPS, Dual Homing, LACP and RSTP provide a highly reliable network with redundancy connections and guarantee continuous network uptime.
IEN-86488A assists system administrators to immediately react to emergency events. It has dual power inputs and trigger alarms to notify network engineers in the event of power failure. In case of software malfuncitons it sends warnings through email and relay output with real-time alarm messages.
Robust Electrical and Electromagnetic Safeguard
Engineered to withstand EMI (electromagnetic interference), ESD (Electrostatic discharge), power surge, over voltage, over current, and reverse polarity.
Port-based and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN
GARP (Generic Attribute Registration Protocol) and GVRP (Generic VLAN Registration Protocol) for segmentation of large networks into smaller parts and separate broadcast domains.
Firmware Auto Backup
Auto backup of firmware to the secondary memory and activation of it from there in case of loss of the primary memory.
Redundant Power System
Powered simultaneously with two different power sources, e.g. SDR-480P-48 power supply and IRA-120/IRA-160 DIN-rail mountable AC to DC power adapter, with power failure alarm.
Efficient Network Monitoring and Management
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and SFP DDMI (Digital Diagnostics Monitoring Interface) for network traffic management and monitoring of switch functions.
Efficient Traffic Prioritization
Effective QoS mechanisms for priority assignment, transmission of dedicated traffics to specific applications, and allocation of appropriate bandwidth to mission-critical communications.
Redundant Ring for Fast Recovery
Xpress Ring for rapid detection and recovery of link failure in milliseconds and ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching), Dual Homing, LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol), and RSTP (Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol) for continuous and consistent operation.
