Product Highlights
• Shock, Freefall and Vibration Proof
INS-840GM is an unmanaged 16-port 10/100/1000Base-T Industrial Gigabit Ethernet Switch with excellent tolerance capability and of high-performance. This switch is backed by DNV GL (Det Norske Veritas and Germanischer Lloyd) and Lloyd's Register Group certifications for its suitability in Marine and Offshore applications, as well as heavy industrial environments. INS-840GM hardware parts are corrosion-resistant enclosed in a rugged IP30 aluminum housing and are tested to perform under extreme circumstances including high vibration and shock offering a wide temperature range of operation between -40°C~75°C.
INS-840GM offers additional enhanced features to an improved and efficient transmission of data and its protection, including advanced QoS support (IEEE 802.1p), efficient link speed control, Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az), Redundant Power inputs for continuous transmission, built-in relay alarm for instant notification of power and port failure, and Gigabit data transmissions. The switch proves to be cost-effective, high performable and serves as a reliable solution for harsh environments of industrial marine applications.
Safety and High Performance in Industrial Marine Applications
This device is tested and certified for safe use in demanding conditions characteristic of Industrial and Marine Applications, to withstand EMI (electromagnetic interference), ESD (Electrostatic discharge), power surge, over-voltage, over-current, and reverse polarity, including the following:
Shock (IEC 60068-2-27) | Freefall (IEC 60068-2-32) | Vibration (IEC 60068-2-6) | DNVGL-CS-0339:2016 | DNVGL-RU-SHIP-Pt4Ch9:2018 | IEC-60945, IACS E10 (Rev.6 2014) | LR certify environmental category ENV1, ENV2, and ENV3
Time-Efficient Installation
Auto-MDI/MDIX (medium dependent interface / MDI crossover) on all ports allow automatic communication once the switch is plugged.
Eco-friendly Green Ethernet Design
This eco-friendly design allows the switch to automatically adjust power consumption and conserve energy during low data activity periods, which concurrently helps to lower operational costs and protect the planet.
Redundant Power System
To guarantee power runs continuously the switch is designed to be simultaneously connected to two power supplies and an alarm through a standard industrial terminal block. If one power supply stops working the switch will start feeding its power on the alternative power supply and the alarm will go off to notify technicians about the event.
